Hosting A Wine Tasting with WineShop at Home

Let’s be real—heading to a wine bar sounds fun until you remember you have to get dressed up, find parking, pretend you know what “mouthfeel” means, and listen to a guy named Chad mansplain tannins. Skip the stress and host your own wine tasting at home, where the only dress code is cute but comfy, and no one will judge you for refilling your glass before the “official” tasting notes are discussed.

Why Host a Wine Tasting at Home?

Hosting a wine tasting at home is easier than you think—especially when you have WineShop at Home delivering premium Napa Valley wines straight to your door. Whether you’re planning a girls’ night, a low-key evening for couples, or a “let’s drink and pretend we know what we’re doing” night, I’ve got you covered. From basic wine etiquette to pairing wine and food to mixing up amazing wine cocktails, hosting a tasting is a breeze.

What Makes This Different?

Unlike a wine bar experience, a WineShop at Home tasting is relaxed, educational (in a fun way), and completely customizable. Plus, you get to try a curated selection of wines in the comfort of your own home—no overpriced pours or awkward small talk required. Just you and your friend enjoying delicious wine and laughing until you pee a little (we are ladies of a certain age and it is likely unavoidable).

Hosting a tasting is super easy. My job as the consultant is to make your job as the hostess as effortless as possible. If you’re in the St. Louis Metro Area, I come to you! Outside of St. Louis? No worries—if COVID taught us anything, it’s that virtual gatherings can be just as engaging.

Four Easy Steps to Hosting:

  1. Set a Date – I am available for tastings most Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. I also keep a few weeknights and one Sunday afternoon open each month.
  2. Order Your Wine Sampler – More details on this below!
  3. Invite Guests – Your guest list should include friends and family who love to drink and buy wine. This is their chance to explore new favorites.
  4. Serve Basic Charcuterie – No need to stress over food. A simple spread with 2-3 cheeses, some berries or fruit, deli meat, and crackers is perfect.
